The evangelical lie about gay marriage.
I voted NO on Prop 8.
I'm not gay, but I voted no on prop 8. I didn't vote to support gay marriage; I voted NO so PEOPLE could have the right to be happy living with and married to whomever they want. Prop 8 has nothing to do with exposing children to the gay life style. Don't worry; your children are going to learn about gays if you like it are not. They are going to learn about it the way most of us so called adults did when we were kids, from rumors that float about in the boys' and girls' locker room. They are going to learn about it from their friends. They are going to learn about it from other family members. They are going to learn about it from the Internet, from the movies, from novels. And they are learning about it more so because of prop 8. They are going to learn about it and you can't stop that.
Prop 8 was a vote to take away rights. For those of you who are not gay, what do you care if gays marry? Ask yourselves how is it going to affect your relationship with your husband or wife? How will it affect your paycheck? Men and women who want to marry are going to do so and making gay marriage legal is not going to stop that. To add, how do you know if those two guys you see sitting across from each other having coffee at a café are gay or not. How do you know and what does it matter?
What these evangelicals have done is damn dear unforgivable; they used children to get people in California to vote to take the right for a person to be happy away. That's out right scummy. This is not about exposing children to the gay lifestyle, it's about the human hart and the right to love and be in love. Gays are people. They are not animals. They are human beings like everyone who reads this Blog. Jesus loves them and died for them on the cross too. And I want to see proof where kindergarten children in Massachusetts were given books about a prince married a prince. The Los Angeles Unified School District has not, and never has taught the gay lifestyle after gay marriage was made legal in the state or before it was legal in the state of California. Teachers here don't teach gay subject matter if there is such a thing in classrooms; nor e will they be forced to. Your child is learning about the gay life style without the need for it to be taught by the school system. And what business does the church have poking its snout in the classroom?
What's all this about, "If gay marriage becomes legal in your state, your right to object on religious or moral grounds gets shoved aside faster than it took to hang Saddam." Where did that silly idea come from? Who's religion and who's moral? Who morality is all this based on? Oh yeah, the evangelical Christians. They are the ones trying to shove their eligious belief up every ones rump by turning their idea of morality into laws they can force on people if they like it are not. Who's rights will they try to get you the voter to take away next? What about those here in American who have the RIGHT not to believe in God. Are we going to vote in a law that forces them to go to church? Yes, let's vote in a law that says Atheists can't marry because they don't believe in God. Let's put a law on the books that takes away the right for Jews to marry because they don't believe in Jesus. I'm sure evangelical Christians would love to do that. Gay marriage is not going to lay the groundwork for you not to be able to teach your child what's right and what's wrong. It's not going to lay the ground work to take away your right to home school your child or send your child to a private school.
Please show me were Gay's are teaching intolerance when they are often the ones subjected to hate crimes. And I don't think being gay is a lifestyle choice. Next time you run into some who say they are gay, ask them if that was a choice they made one day out of the blue. You can say gays want something that they are not supposed to have. Well,
let's turn the clock back 70 years. For those of you who do not know, just about every state in the Union and that included liberal California had laws on the books that made it illegal for Blacks and Whites to marry. That law which is a Jim Crow law was overturned. Just
think how that Black White couple back in 1940 felt when you had a law that said they want something that they are not supposed to have, the right to be together and be happy. Did the nation fall when Blacks and Whites married and had children, it did not. And look at the product of such a unions, our current new president, Obama is the product of a Black man and a White women and is viewed as the next F.D.R. That old Jim Crow law, just like prop 8 was based on hate. Prop 8 is a hate law. It's a law that gives evangelicals Christians the legal right to hate based on the moral views.
If a true marriage is one that takes place in front of an ordained minister of any denomination that calls upon God, then what of gay churches? Yes you do have them. Or Red Letter Christian churches where the love and teaching of Christ is taught and are open to all people based on his teaching. What about all the other non Christian faiths
and their right to wed. Are those unions illegal?
What these evangelicals Christians have done is opened a can or worms. This is going to make its way to the US Supreme Court, and I am willing to bet money the Supreme Court will overturn prop 8's passage. What evangelicals Christians have done, and they don't know it, is put religion on trial. This is the century where the world is going to
have to come to terms with religion.
I have better things to do that worry about two rusty men having sex.

P.S. Vote Obama.
America needs Barack Obama. But a new president alone cannot fix what ails America.
Today, there are 49 Republicans in the U.S. Senate who could make it their mission to undermine Barack Obama's presidency.
Together, we can stop them.
If thousands of us come together to take nine Republican seats 12 days from now, Democrats will have a historic majority that will put an end to Republican stalling tactics. The years of Republican obstruction will be over.
But we must act now to win on November 4. History is being decided. Our action or inaction now can lead to triumph or defeat. Can you chip in $25 to help win key Senate races today?
Democratic Senate challengers are either leading or neck-and-neck with Republican senators. Seven races are pure toss-ups-they could go either way.
We can't control all the twists and turns of these races, but if we all do our part, together we can make sure Democratic candidates have absolutely everything they need to rush funds where they can do the most good.
Every dollar you give enables a candidate to call another voter, knock on another door or fund another campaign ad. This can make all the difference in races that may be decided by the smallest of margins.
Millions of undecided voters are in play across America, and we're trying to reach them one by one, day in day out, to make sure they join our side. Please chip in today:
In these all-important days before the election, we must come together as one to restore an America of hope and greatness.
Thank you for all you do.
