The Backstory
Story.com was founded in 2024 by Steven Ebin, a tech entrepreneur and host of the popular kids' storytelling podcast Maked Up Stories. What began as a tool for turning bedtime stories into short videos has grown into a storytelling platform used by creators and educators worldwide, backed by seed funding from leading investors in AI and the creator economy.

The Full Story
Story.com began with a simple observation: AI could generate images and clips, but it couldn't reliably tell a coherent story.
In 2024, tech entrepreneur Steven Ebin—host of Maked Up Stories, a widely-listened children's storytelling podcast—founded Story.com to fix that. The first prototype turned kids' bedtime ideas into short narrated videos. Very quickly, teachers, creators, and small studios started using it for lesson content, social shorts, and storybooks.
Today, Story.com is a storytelling engine that lets anyone go from prompt to finished video, storybook, or character universe in minutes, while keeping control over plot, pacing, and style. The company is seed-funded by investors who share our belief that the next generation of media will be story-first, not asset-first.
