Bunny hopped nervously through the undergrowth, his ears twitching at every rustle. He clutched a crumpled map, squinting at the inked warnings about the "Weremonkey's Lair." From a low branch, Monkey swung down, his fur bristling with excitement.
"Come on, Bunny! It's just a legend. Besides, I love a good full moon adventure!"
"Legends are legends for a reason, Monkey. What if tonight... it's true?"
Bunny and Monkey crept into the clearing, their breath visible in the sudden chill. The map's final warning—"Beware the curse on the brightest night"—settled heavy in Bunny's mind. Suddenly, a wolfish howl echoed, freezing them in their tracks.
"Did you hear that?!"
"Probably just a distant dog... or a werewolf... or, you know, a Weremonkey!"
"That's not funny, Monkey."
Monkey[/@ch_2], illuminating him in a ghostly silver glow. The stones seem to hum with ancient energy.]
Suddenly, Monkey clutched his head, stumbling. His tail grew bushier, his eyes flashed gold, and his teeth sharpened into fangs.
"Bunny... I don’t feel so good..."
Bunny stepped back, wide-eyed, as Monkey's silhouette stretched and warped. Under the unblinking moon, the Weremonkey was born.
Monkey[/@ch_2], now the fearsome Weremonkey, bounds after Bunny. The forest is alive with frantic movement, branches clawing at fur and ears alike.]
Bunny raced through brambles, heart pounding, dodging roots and leaping fallen logs. Behind him, Monkey gave a strange howl—part monkey, part monster.
"Bunny! Wait! I can’t control it!"
"Hang on, Monkey! I’ll find a way to help you!"
Bunny remembered an old rhyme about Lunar Lilies bringing peace to the cursed. He dashed to the pond, grabbing a handful of glowing petals just as Monkey lunged near.
"Monkey! Smell these—trust me!"
Monkey sniffed the lilies. The golden glow faded from his eyes, his fangs receded, and he shrank back to his usual, mischievous self.
Monkey slumped beside Bunny, fur ruffled but spirit bright.
"Whoa. That was wild. Thanks for not abandoning me, Bunny."
"That's what friends do, even when you're a Weremonkey."
They watched the sunrise together, grateful for another adventure survived, and perhaps a little wiser about legends—and each other.
