Christabel slipped quietly from her bed, tiptoeing across the wooden floor. She pressed her face to the cool glass, heart fluttering as she listened to the whistle growing nearer. The night seemed alive, every bush and branch humming with promise.
The door of the nearest carriage opened with a gentle creak. A tall figure in a navy-blue coat tipped his hat, his eyes twinkling beneath the brim. The Enchanted Conductor, with a voice as smooth as velvet, beckoned, "Step aboard, Christabel. The Moonlight Train awaits."
Christabel pressed her nose to the window, marveling at the landscape of midnight blues and sparkling whites. She turned to The Enchanted Conductor and asked, "Where are we going?" "Wherever your heart desires," he replied, his smile mysterious.
The carriage filled with soft, tinkling laughter as other children appeared, their faces alight with wonder. Christabel felt courage blossom inside her. "I wish we could stay here forever," she confided to her new friends.
The Enchanted Conductor knelt beside Christabel, his eyes kind. "The magic of the Moonlight Train is always with you, as long as you believe," he said gently. Christabel nodded, her heart full of hope and wonder.
