Cinderella sits quietly at the edge of her bed, rubbing the sleep from her eyes as she listens to the faint sounds of laughter drifting up from below.
"Another day, another list of chores," she whispers, her voice soft but resolute, glancing at the broom propped against the door.
Lady Tremaine[/@ch_2].]
Lady Tremaine, regal and cold, stands at the top of the stairs, her sharp eyes trained on Cinderella. Her two daughters, Anastasia and Drizella, trail behind, draped in gaudy silks.
"Cinderella, the floors are filthy. I expect them to shine before the clock strikes noon,"
"And don’t forget to press my blue gown! I want it perfect for tonight,"
"Yes, Stepmother. Yes, Anastasia," Cinderella replies, her tone gentle but her heart heavy.
Cinderella[/@ch_1] hums a quiet melody, her hands busy with dough.]
Gus-Gus, a plump and cheerful mouse, tugs at a loose thread, while Jaq, his braver companion, chitters encouragement.
"Gus help! Gus help make happy!"
"Don’t worry, Cinderella. We get you to the ball,"
"Thank you, my friends. I don’t know what I’d do without you," Cinderella says with a grateful smile.
Fairy Godmother, radiant and kind, appears in a burst of sparkling light, her wand aloft.
"Dry your tears, child. You shall go to the ball,"
"But I have nothing to wear and no way to get there,"
"Nonsense, my dear. Even miracles need a little faith," laughs Fairy Godmother as she waves her wand. A pumpkin swells and shimmers, transforming into a grand carriage, and Cinderella spins in wonder as her rags become a dazzling gown of silver and blue.
Cinderella[/@ch_1] descends the staircase, heart pounding in awe.]
Prince Charming, handsome and sincere, steps forward, captivated by her presence.
"May I have this dance?"
"I would be honored," she replies, and together they spin across the glittering ballroom, the world fading around them.
Cinderella[/@ch_1] flees, one glass slipper slipping from her foot. The carriage dissolves into a pumpkin, and mice scatter into the shadows.]
"Please, let me make it home before the magic fades," she gasps, clutching her skirts as she disappears into the night, hope and fear battling in her heart.
Lady Tremaine[/@ch_2] watching with narrowed eyes as Cinderella enters quietly.]
"Try the slipper, miss,"
"Thank you, sir," Cinderella says softly, slipping her foot in with perfect grace. The shoe fits, and the room bursts with astonishment.
"You are the one I’ve been searching for," Prince Charming declares, taking her hand with joy.
Cinderella[/@ch_1] and Prince Charming walk hand in hand. Roses arch overhead, and doves flutter among the fountains.]
"I never dreamed my life could change so completely,"
"Your kindness is your magic, Cinderella. With you, every day is a new beginning,"
Cinderella smiles, her heart full, as the kingdom welcomes its new princess with open arms.
