Luna, the lead singer, stands at the microphone, her silver hair reflecting the stage lights. Beside her, Maya strums her electric guitar, eyes scanning the audience with a sly smile, while Jade keeps the rhythm on drums, her emerald green nails tapping in sync. As they perform, the crowd roars, oblivious to the band’s secret.
"Thank you for coming tonight! But remember, the night is just beginning," Luna teases, her tone layered with meaning only her bandmates understand.
Maya unlocks the case, revealing demon-hunting weapons disguised as band gear: a microphone that doubles as a silver dagger, drumsticks etched with holy symbols, and a guitar pick forged from blessed obsidian. Jade checks her phone, where cryptic messages from a city informant flash.
"There's another sighting near the old cathedral. If we hurry, we might catch it before dawn," Jade says, tension mounting in her voice.
Luna leads the way, microphone-turned-dagger in hand, her eyes alert for movement. Maya, guitar slung across her back, listens for unnatural sounds among the echoing footsteps. Suddenly, a guttural growl splits the silence, and a hulking demon emerges from the shadows, its eyes burning red.
"Looks like we found our fan," Maya quips, her bravado covering a flicker of fear.
Luna darts forward, slashing with her dagger, while Maya strums a chord, sending a sonic blast at the beast. Jade circles behind, her drumsticks striking the floor and summoning protective sigils. The demon howls, lashing out with razor-edged claws.
"You don't belong in this city," Luna declares, her voice echoing with courage and fury.
Jade kneels to examine a scorched sigil, concern etched on her brow. Maya offers a tired grin, her guitar slung low.
"We did it, but they're getting stronger. How much longer can we keep this up?" Maya asks, her voice trembling with doubt.
Luna glances at her friends, determination shining in her eyes. Jade hums a tune, the melody soft and reassuring.
"We’ll keep fighting. For the city. For each other. And for anyone who believes in harmony," Luna says, as they disappear into daylight, ready to live their double lives again.
