Jade moves gracefully among the twisting roots, her green eyes sharp as she gathers small bundles of herbs in a woven satchel. Her scales shimmer faintly in the filtered light, revealing her serpent heritage beneath a human guise. With practiced hands, she checks her supplies and murmurs a promise to herself. "Today, I’ll reach the Lake Myrr and find those elusive Moonpetals. The sick need them before the first frost," she whispers, determination in her voice.
Prince Drake[/@ch_2] is boisterous, while Prince Levi rides with a watchful, thoughtful air.]
"Come, Levi! I swear the wildboar is just beyond that rise. Don’t fall behind!"
"Drake, wait—these woods are deeper than you think. The elders warn us about the forbidden lands," he calls, but his words are lost as Prince Drake charges ahead, leaving Prince Levi alone beneath the thickening shadows.
Prince Levi[/@ch_3] dismounts, peering into the gloom, when the underbrush explodes with movement. A colossal serpent with black-iron scales and eyes like molten fire—Kael—erupts from the shadows.]
"You trespass, human. This is not your realm," the beast’s voice is a guttural hiss, coiling menacingly around Levi.
Frozen with terror, Levi tries to draw his sword, but the serpent’s massive coils pin him. Just as deadly fangs descend, a blur of emerald intercepts—Jade, eyes blazing, brandishes a dagger and drives it at Kael's exposed flank.
Jade[/@ch_1] kneels beside Levi, tending his wounds with gentle hands and aromatic salves. The air is filled with the sweet scent of Moonpetals, and the tension of the earlier battle is replaced by soft laughter and shy glances.]
"I never thought I’d owe my life to a serpent-folk," Levi admits, watching her mix crushed petals.
"Perhaps you’ll find we’re not so different from humans after all," she replies, eyes warm. Days pass, and their meetings by the lake grow frequent. Trust deepens, and soon the line between healer and prince blurs, replaced by something tender and unspoken.
Jade[/@ch_1] and Levi linger on the shore, laughter echoing softly. Suddenly, the water churns with violent force—Kael surges forth, venom dripping from his fangs.]
"You dare betray your blood, Jade? No human is worth your loyalty!" he snarls, striking with lethal intent.
In a flash, Jade sheds her human form—her skin shimmers, limbs merge, and she stands revealed in her true jade-green serpentine glory.
"Jade… you’re—" Levi's voice trembles with shock and longing.
"Stay behind me, Levi. I will not let harm come to you," Jade vows, facing her rival with fierce courage.
Kael[/@ch_4] lunges, but his final strike is aimed at the prince. Without hesitation, Jade throws herself in front, taking the venomous bite meant for Levi. As Kael retreats into the forest, wounded and defeated, Jade collapses in Levi’s arms, her form flickering between serpent and girl.]
"Jade, stay with me! Please, don’t leave," Levi pleads, tears falling onto the glowing Moonpetals scattered around them.
He lays her gently by the water’s edge, the soft light of the petals weaving into her wounds. As the moon’s reflection shimmers over the lake, magic stirs—a gentle wind, a pulse of ancient power. Slowly, color returns to Jade's cheeks and her eyes flutter open, filled with love and wonder.
Levi[/@ch_3] holds Jade’s hand, his gaze filled not with fear, but devotion. Around them, Moonpetals bloom in a radiant circle, their silver glow a testament to the miracle that has just occurred.]
"I see you now, Jade—not as a serpent, nor as a human, but as the one my heart chooses,"
"Together, we can heal what divides our worlds,"
Hand in hand, they watch the sun rise over Lake Myrr, their love a new legend whispered by the wind among the ancient trees of Valoria.
