Poison Ivy watched with a calculating gleam in her eyes as she dripped a concoction of vibrant chemicals over Cole. "Soon, you'll be my perfect creation," she murmured, her voice like the rustle of leaves. Cole struggled against the hold, his mind clouded and body weakening.
James, flanked by Robin, stood tensely by Cole's medical pod. "We got to him just in time," Robin said, his voice a quiet reassurance in the dark. James nodded, his eyes never leaving his brother. "He'll pull through. He has to," he whispered, more to himself than anyone else.
Cole grimaced as he opened his mouth, enduring the prick of the needle. James held his hand, offering silent support. "Remember, Cole, no one is more courageous than you," he encouraged, his voice steady and strong.
Natalie bounded over to Robin, her tail wagging playfully. "Why did Poison Ivy do that to Daddy?" she asked, her voice tinged with innocence. "Sometimes, people make bad choices for their own reasons," Robin explained, gently ruffling her fur.
Cole chuckled, his memory slowly jogging back as James recounted stories of their adventures. "And remember the time we dressed up Natalie as a superhero for Halloween?" James teased, drawing laughter from all.
Cole watched, a soft smile playing on his lips. "Thank you, James, for being here," he said, his voice hoarse but filled with gratitude. "Always, Cole. We're family," James replied, his hand resting reassuringly on Cole's shoulder.
