In the heart of the forest, Fairy Godmother stood amidst swirling mists, her eyes gleaming with a sinister brilliance. Her fingers traced a glowing rune suspended in the air, the final piece of her dark spell. "Soon, Shrek, you will know the true might of my magic," she murmured, her voice echoing through the woods.
Shrek awoke to find the world around him strangely quiet. As he stepped outside, the earth beneath him began to tremble. Fairy Godmother's enchantment took hold, and his limbs stiffened, bark replacing skin. "What kind of foul sorcery is this?" he roared, his voice echoing as he rooted to the ground.
Fiona rushed through the crowd, her heart pounding. She had sensed something amiss and feared for Shrek. Meeting Donkey, whose eyes were wide with worry, she shared her fears. "We gotta fix this, Fiona! Shrek's in trouble, I just know it!" he exclaimed, his voice a mix of panic and determination.
Fiona pored over an ancient book, her fingers tracing the faded lines of a forgotten spell. Puss in Boots perched on a nearby shelf, his eyes sharp and focused. "This might be the key we need, my friends," he purred, indicating a passage about undoing magical transformations.
Fiona and Donkey emerged from the shadows, their resolve unwavering. Fairy Godmother smirked, raising her wand with a flourish. "You think you can stop me? I've already won," she taunted. "You underestimate the power of love and friendship," Fiona retorted, holding the counter-spell aloft.
The powerful spell unravelled, and Shrek was freed from his wooden prison, his familiar green form restored. He embraced Fiona, gratitude and relief in his eyes. "I knew you wouldn't let me down," he said, his voice thick with emotion. Donkey pranced around them, jubilant and full of energy. "That's right! No one messes with our family!" he cheered, as the group made their way back home, leaving the darkness of the forest behind.
