Ember, a young dragon with shimmering red scales, stood at the top of the tallest hill, her bright golden eyes filled with determination. Every morning, she watched the older dragons soar effortlessly through the skies, dreaming of the day she would join them.
"Why can't I fly?" Ember sighed, collapsing onto the soft grass. Her attempts were met with only a few hops before gravity pulled her back down. Her friends, Blaze, Fern, and Zephyr, watched her struggle with sympathetic eyes.
Blaze, with his bright orange scales, approached her and said, "Flying isn’t just about flapping your wings. You have to feel the wind beneath you." Fern, a green-scaled dragon with wings as soft as leaves, added,[ @ch_3_d]"And trust yourself!"[/@ch_3_d] The fastest flyer, Zephyr, grinned and said, "Come on! Let’s practice together."
Together, they ran up and down the hills, feeling the wind rush past them. Blaze, Fern, and Zephyr took off one by one, demonstrating how to glide with the breeze. Ember watched closely, absorbing everything.
Ember took a deep breath, her heart filled with hope and a newfound sense of confidence. She ran as fast as she could, spread her wings wide, and leaped into the air. For a fleeting moment, she felt weightless, and then—plop!—she landed belly-first in the grass. Laughter erupted from her friends, but Fern quickly helped her up. "I’ll try again!" she giggled.
With each attempt, Ember felt lighter, stronger. She listened to Blaze's advice, trusted herself as Fern had urged, and with Zephyr's encouragement, she leaped one more time. Suddenly, the wind lifted her wings, and she soared! "I’m flying!" she cheered, twirling in the air. Below, her friends cheered with joy and pride.
From that day on, Ember joined her friends in the sky every morning, discovering the thrill of the open sky and the joy of flight. She had learned that flying was not just about wings—it was about patience, practice, and believing in herself. And so, Ember and her friends danced through the clouds, always learning, always growing, and always soaring high.
