Sachi sat on her futon, knees hugged to her chest as she gazed up at the sky. The world outside was hushed, but her mind was vibrant with unspoken desire. She admired the beauty of pregnant women, their glow and gentle strength, even though she knew she did not want children herself. Tonight, beneath the watchful eyes of the stars, she whispered her secret wish into the darkness.
At first, Sachi barely notices the subtle changes. Each day, her belly becomes a little rounder, a soft swell blossoming beneath her hands. She giggles quietly, her fingers tracing the gentle curve in wonder, half-doubting and half-delighting in the magic she suspects. "Is this really happening to me?"
Sachi finds herself enchanted by this new part of her body. She presses her palms to the tight, smooth surface, feeling its warmth, and often plants kisses on her belly’s crest, whispering thanks to the universe for this strange, beautiful gift. "You’re mine, my little miracle," she coos, her eyes sparkling with affection. She spends hours daydreaming, feeling whole in a way she never expected.
As much as Sachi loves her magical belly, questions begin to rise. She wonders how long this enchantment will last, and what will happen next, since she was never meant to give birth. Resting her chin on her knees, she speaks softly to the night: "How do I let go of something so precious, when it isn’t meant to stay?"
A sudden sense of clarity washes over Sachi. She places her hands lovingly on her belly and breathes deeply, feeling a strange, buoyant energy. The skin beneath her fingers tingles, growing lighter and lighter until it feels almost weightless. "Thank you for the magic," she whispers, and with a final, gentle squeeze, she feels her belly begin to lift away, swelling into a giant, shimmering bubble.
Sachi watches, heart full but light, as the bubble drifts upward, carrying away her wish and her secret joy. She smiles, tears sparkling in her eyes, feeling both loss and liberation in the same breath. "Goodbye, my dream," she says softly, and as the bubble disappears among the stars, she knows she will always treasure the memory of her magical wish come true.
