Oliver sat cross-legged on the library floor, his eyes wide with wonder as he delved into another fantasy novel. The world around him faded away, replaced by vivid images of mythical creatures and enchanted landscapes.
"Just one more chapter," he whispered to himself, turning the page eagerly.
Oliver was so engrossed in the story that he didn't notice the librarian, Mrs. Hazel, tidying up for the evening. Her gentle smile was a familiar comfort as she watched him read.
"Time to wrap up, dear," she said softly, her voice a warm melody in the hushed room.
"Just a few more minutes, please," he pleaded, his eyes never leaving the page.
Oliver felt a strange sensation, as if the words were lifting off the page. The room around him began to blur and swirl, colors blending into a kaleidoscope of light.
Suddenly, he found himself standing on a cobblestone path, surrounded by towering trees with leaves shimmering like precious gems.
Oliver looked around in awe, realizing he was no longer in the library. The world from his book had come to life, and he was now part of its story.
"This can't be real," he murmured, feeling a mix of fear and excitement.
Oliver took a deep breath, remembering the dragon-slaying heroes from his stories. "I have to be brave," he told himself, clutching the book tightly.
The dragon's eyes gleamed with intelligence, and Oliver realized it was not an enemy, but a guide.
Oliver hesitated at the threshold, looking back at the incredible world he had discovered. "Thank you," he said to the dragon, knowing he would forever cherish this adventure.
Stepping through the portal, he found himself back in the library, the book still open in his hands, as if no time had passed at all.
