Shrek stood at the edge of the swamp, his eyes narrowing as the tornado approached. The sky above was a kaleidoscope of colors, swirling in a mesmerizing dance, and he felt a strange pull towards it. The air was electric, crackling with an energy he'd never felt before.
"What in the world is that?" he muttered to himself, stepping forward almost subconsciously.
As the tornado enveloped him, Shrek felt his body begin to change. Colors danced over his skin, and he watched in awe as he began to melt, his form dissolving into a vibrant puddle. Memories he had long forgotten flashed before his eyes, each one a vivid scene in the tornado's swirling chaos. It was as if his past had come alive, painting the storm with his life’s story.
Donkey skidded to a halt, his eyes fixed on the tornado. He could see Shrek's form inside, melting away in the storm's grasp.
"Shrek! Hold on, buddy! I'm coming for you!" he brayed, charging towards the tornado with reckless abandon.
"Shrek, you've got to fight it! Remember who you are!" Donkey shouted, his voice a beacon of hope in the swirling darkness.
With each word, Shrek felt a surge of strength. The colors around him began to stabilize, and slowly, he could feel himself solidifying, his memories anchoring him to reality.
Shrek stumbled forward, breathing heavily, yet whole and himself again. He looked around, dazed but grateful, as Donkey rushed to his side, relief etched across his face.
"Thanks, Donkey," Shrek said, his voice tinged with gratitude.
"Anytime, Shrek. You know I'm not just a pretty face," Donkey replied with a cheeky grin.
Shrek looked up at the stars, a newfound appreciation in his eyes.
"It's funny, you never really know what you have until you almost lose it," he mused.
"Well, just remember, you've always got me to drag you back from the brink," Donkey said, nudging his friend playfully.
Shrek chuckled, feeling the warmth of friendship wrap around him like a comforting blanket. Together, they watched the night unfold, grateful for the magic that had brought them closer.
