Annabelle, the wizard’s assistant, hurried across the courtyard, her arms laden with spell books and potions. Her curly hair bounced with each step, and her eyes darted nervously, seeking out the wizard's tower. Just as she reached the wooden door, she stumbled, sending books and potions crashing to the cobblestone ground. A brilliant flash of light erupted, and suddenly, the courtyard was filled with the quacking of the royal family, now waddling around as ducks.
"Oh no, what have I done?" Annabelle gasped, clutching her head in disbelief.
King Timothy, a distinguished mallard with a regal bearing, waddled in circles, trying to maintain some semblance of dignity. Queen Sabrina, a graceful white duck, quacked soothingly to their ducklings, who were peeping anxiously.
Annabelle rushed inside, heart pounding, and fell to her knees before the feathered royalty. "I swear, I'll fix this before anyone finds out!"
Annabelle ventured deep into the forest, her path lit by the soft glow of luminescent mushrooms. Her heart was set on finding the crystal shard needed to reverse the spell. A rustling in the bushes made her pause, and out stepped Eldrin, a mischievous fox with eyes that gleamed with intelligence.
"Looking for something, are we?" Eldrin asked, tilting his head curiously.
"I need a crystal shard to save the kingdom," Annabelle replied urgently.
Annabelle hesitated briefly at the cave's mouth. "Are you sure this is the right place?"
"Trust me," Eldrin assured, leading the way inside.
Within the cave, the crystal shard shimmered atop a stone pedestal, reflecting vibrant colors onto the walls. Annabelle reached out, her fingers brushing the cool surface, and a wave of energy coursed through her.
Annabelle, standing in the center, held the crystal shard high. "Here goes nothing," she muttered, channeling her magic into the shard. A blinding light enveloped the courtyard, and when it faded, the royal family stood before her, human once more.
"You did it, Annabelle!" King Timothy exclaimed, visibly relieved.
Queen Sabrina, now in her elegant gown, smiled warmly at Annabelle. "Your secret is safe with us," she promised.
Annabelle beamed, grateful for the royal family's kindness and her newfound confidence. The ceremony would go on as planned, and the kingdom would remain blissfully unaware of the feathered chaos that had almost unraveled their peace.
