Liora, the village's young apprentice wizard, stands in her cozy attic room, surrounded by books and scattered feathers. Her cat, Whiskers, lounges on the windowsill, watching the world wake below.
"I’m going to levitate a cart!"
"Mm-hmm. Just don’t make it fly into the well this time," comes the sleepy reply.
Liora marches outside, her wand clutched confidently in hand. She stands before the cart, rolling up her sleeves, determined and hopeful.
"Levito magna cartus!" she proclaims, her voice echoing across the square. For a moment, nothing stirs.
Liora sprints in frantic circles, waving her wand desperately, her face flushed with panic.
Tamsin, the baker, steps out, tray of pastries in hand, eyes wide with shock.
"Liora, what are you—?!"
"Whoops! Too much magic, too much magic!" she shouts, leaping onto her broom and nearly colliding with the spinning cart.
Tamsin shields herself with her tray, her bakery roof now dented and pastries ruined.
"Get it off! Get it off!" she cries, voice shaking.
Liora, mortified, attempts to reverse the spell.
"Descendo! Descendo cartus!"
Liora[/@ch_1], cheeks aflame with embarrassment. The enchanted forest seems to hold its breath, the air thick with anticipation.]
Old Man Beryl, the eccentric wizard, steps forward, cane tapping on stone. He grins, eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Brilliant, Liora! The first enchanted cart flight. You’ll be famous!" His laughter breaks the tension, and the villagers begin to chuckle, the mood lightening.
Liora[/@ch_1] stands tall, promising reparations, while Whiskers weaves between her feet, unimpressed.]
"You’re going to owe me a lot more than that, Liora. You’ve ruined my pastries, my roof, and my peace of mind," says Tamsin, mock stern.
"Maybe I can conjure up a magical baker’s oven? Or… a never-ending loaf of bread?"
"Meow," comes the soft feline protest.
"I’ll take the loaf of bread. But no flying carts next time, okay?"
"Deal," replies Liora, a grin curling at her lips as she surveys the magical mayhem and the enchanted, forgiving heart of her village.
