Modern Sonic noticed the stillness as he approached, his usual vibrant energy quieted by the scene before him. Classic Sonic was curled up, his small blue frame trembling slightly, tears glistening in his fur. "Buddy, what’s wrong?" he asked gently, kneeling beside him with concern etched onto his face.
"I feel like I'm being left behind," Classic Sonic confessed, his voice small and uncertain. "Everything's moving so fast, and I'm just... here. What if everyone forgets about me?" His gaze dropped to the ground, where a single tear fell, absorbed quickly by the thirsty earth.
"Hey, look at me," Modern Sonic urged softly. "You'll never be forgotten. You're part of something bigger, something that started everything. Without you, there wouldn't be a me." His words held a promise, a bridge between the past and the present.
Classic Sonic sniffled, his tears abating as he pondered Modern Sonic’s words. "I guess I just needed to hear that," he admitted quietly. "It's hard to feel important when everything is changing so fast." He looked up, catching the sincere expression on Modern Sonic's face.
"Change can be scary," Modern Sonic acknowledged. "But it can also be exciting. Remember, you're not alone. We'll face it together, and you'll always have a place in everyone’s hearts. You're a legend!" His grin was infectious, spreading warmth and hope.
Classic Sonic nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Thanks, buddy," he said, feeling lighter. The two hedgehogs walked side by side, their shadows stretching out behind them as they left the meadow, stepping confidently into the future. Classic Sonic sits on modern sonic’s lap to sleep. Modern Sonic rubs Classic Sonic’s head and they enjoy their spot.
