Fenwick, the wizard’s assistant, stumbled over a stack of ancient tomes, sending a cascade of potion bottles crashing to the floor.
"Oh no, not again!"
As the colorful liquids mixed, a bright flash enveloped the room. When the light faded, the once regal royal family stood quacking in bemusement, now transformed into ducks.
Lila, Fenwick's clever friend, was inspecting the vibrant decorations lining the courtyard when she heard the commotion above.
"Fenwick, what have you done this time?"
Fenwick rushed down, his face a mixture of panic and embarrassment.
"Lila, I need your help! The royal family... they’re ducks!"
Fenwick and Lila hurried through the marketplace, dodging inquisitive glances from townsfolk as they searched for a rare herb needed for the antidote.
"We must find the Enchanted Sage," Lila said with urgency, scanning the stalls for any sign of the elusive figure.
"I just hope we’re not too late," Fenwick replied, his eyes darting nervously.
Deep within the woods, the pair found themselves surrounded by the soft glow of magical creatures.
Lila paused, her senses attuned to the forest's whispers.
"The Sage is near, I can feel it," she whispered.
Fenwick nodded, his heart pounding as they continued their search amidst the rustling leaves and distant hoots.
They finally arrived at a serene clearing where the Enchanted Sage awaited, his long beard shimmering in the moonlight.
The Sage, with a knowing smile, listened to their plight.
"To reverse the spell, you must gather the essence of the Moonflower," he instructed, pointing to a glowing bloom at the center of the clearing.
Fenwick and Lila carefully collected the petals, their hope renewed.
Back in the tower, Fenwick prepared the potion with trembling hands, while Lila kept watch for any disturbances.
As the first light of dawn streamed through the window, the royal family began to shimmer and transform, their feathers melting away.
"It worked!" Fenwick exclaimed, relief washing over him as the royal family returned to their human forms, none the wiser of their brief quacking adventure.
