Rapunzel stood at the edge of her small abode, her heart heavy with the weight of memories and dreams unfulfilled. The barren landscape stretched before her, a mirror to her own isolation, as she thought of Liora and Caius, her twin children, playing inside. Their laughter was a rare melody in the silence of the desert.
"How much longer must we stay hidden away?" she murmured to herself, her eyes tracing the horizon where the sun dipped below the sands.
As Rapunzel watched Liora and Caius asleep, her thoughts drifted back to the tower, to the life she once knew. The prince, Leander, had been her hope, her escape from the sorceress's clutches.
"Leander, where are you now?" she whispered, a tear escaping down her cheek. The memory of his touch, his promises, lingered in her heart like an unending song.
