Maddie, a chubby-cheeked, bespectacled teenager with an oversized hoodie and rainbow socks, lounges on the couch. Her uncle’s absence for three weeks has left her in charge of the house, and the air buzzes with the thrill of unsupervised freedom. She flips through the spellbook with idle curiosity, her finger tracing the ornate lettering.
"All these spells look so silly. Like, who even writes this stuff?" she mutters, giggling as she reads a spell aloud, thinking it harmless.
"Oh my gosh, what is—wait, this actually feels… kinda nice?" Maddie blushes, hesitantly poking her now enormous belly. She giggles, her hands sinking into the soft, pillowy surface, and scurries to her room to find her favorite animated rainbow two-piece swimsuit.
"Whoa! Okay, this is out of control… but also, wow, look at me!" Maddie laughs, twirling until she topples onto the grass, rolling back and forth like a giggling beach ball. She tries to focus on reversing the spell, but each attempt only makes her bigger—and her delight grows, too, as she feels more playful and mischievous.
"If I just stay still, maybe nobody will notice… except for, you know, the GIANT BELLY sticking out," she whispers, trying not to giggle.
Uncle Jasper, a tall man with a salt-and-pepper beard and a bemused expression, approaches cautiously.
"Maddie… what on earth happened here?!"
"Uh… I found your spellbook and… well, I guess I overdid it," she replies, cheeks flushed.
"We need to fix this, right now," he insists, flipping through the spellbook.
"This wasn’t supposed to happen!"
"But I love it! Look how bouncy I am—>:3" Maddie grins, embracing her magical transformation. Finally, as her uncle sighs in exasperation, she floats on her belly in the pool, rainbow swimsuit glowing in the moonlight, completely and joyfully herself.
