Normal Box sits quietly, its corners crisp and its surface smooth. Next to it, Running Box rocks gently from side to side, excitement evident in the way its feet tap the floor.
"Are you ever curious about what's beyond these walls, Normal Box?"
"I'm happy right here. Everything is neat and predictable," comes the measured reply.
Hardhat Box rolls over, wearing a bright yellow hardhat and a grin. "There's talk of a race today. Boxes from all over are lining up outside," he announces, voice brimming with enthusiasm.
Running Box's eyes widen, and its legs bounce with anticipation. "Normal Box, let's join! It will be fun, I promise,"
Normal Box hesitates, the thought of leaving its spot unsettling. "What if I trip or fall? I'm not made for running,"
"Everyone's welcome. It's not about winning; it's about trying," encourages Hardhat Box, patting Normal Box gently. Running Box kneels beside Normal Box, "I'll stay by your side the whole way,"
Normal Box rolls up to the line, heart pounding in its cardboard shell. Running Box stretches its legs, grinning with excitement. Hardhat Box signals the start, "On your marks, get set—go!"
"Here we go, Normal Box! Just keep moving,"
Normal Box stumbles over a stone, nearly toppling. "I can't do this... maybe I should go back,"
"You're doing great! Look at how far you've come," Running Box cheers, gently nudging Normal Box forward. Hardhat Box calls out from the sidelines, "One step at a time, that's all it takes!"
Normal Box crosses the line, surprised by the thrill of accomplishment. Running Box laughs, "See? You made it! And you didn't even trip,"
"Thank you for believing in me. Maybe being a normal box isn't so bad, but sometimes it's good to try something new," Normal Box says, beaming with pride as Hardhat Box places a small medal around its corner.
