Darlington stands on the edge of a rooftop, his cape fluttering in the gentle breeze. He surveys the waking city, his posture tall and hopeful, silhouetted against the pastel sky. Birds swoop in graceful arcs as the world below begins to stir.
Darlington leaps from the rooftop, landing softly beside the vendor. He kneels to help her, his gloved hands gentle as he returns the fruit to her cart. "Don’t worry, ma’am. I’m here to help—let’s make this morning brighter together,"
The crowd gathers as the vendor thanks Darlington with a grateful smile. Nearby, a little boy tugs at his mother’s sleeve, eyes wide with wonder. "Anyone can be a hero, as long as they care," Darlington says, raising his hand in a friendly wave.
Darlington sprints after the dog, dodging startled picnickers and leaping over a low fence. He crouches low, arms outstretched, and gently calls to the frightened animal. "It’s okay, buddy. Let’s get you home,"
Darlington sits, gazing at his own reflection in the water, cape pooling at his side. He thinks of the people he’s helped and the many colors of kindness he’s witnessed in the city. "We all bring our own colors to the world," he murmurs softly.
Darlington stands at the highest point in the city, silhouetted against the vibrant horizon. His cape ripples like a blank canvas, ready for a new day’s story. "Tomorrow, the colors will be yours," he says, smiling as night falls and the city dreams beneath him.
