Jacob Kelly sat cross-legged on his bed, flipping through a comic book, when the air around him began to shimmer and crackle with energy. The calm of the night was shattered as ten vibrant figures materialized in the middle of his room. Each god was draped in robes of swirling colors, their voices raised in a cacophony of divine disagreement.
"Can you all please quiet down?" Jacob pleaded, trying to make himself heard over the commotion.
Jacob glanced toward his door, knowing his family was just downstairs. He heard the familiar creak of footsteps on the stairs, and moments later, his mother, Martha, appeared at the doorway with a puzzled look.
"Jacob, turn off the TV, it's too loud," she scolded.
"The TV's off, Mom. Can't you see the gods fighting here?" Jacob protested.
Martha shook her head, bewildered, and returned downstairs, muttering about Jacob's imagination. His sister, Emily, poked her head into the room, her eyes wide with curiosity.
"Maybe they are gods," she whispered, "Mom can't see them because she doesn't believe."
The powerful god leaned forward, "You can see and hear us? This place was chosen because belief here is scarce," he mused.
"I believe in gods, and so does my sister," Jacob replied, glancing at Emily, who nodded eagerly.
"We seek a new god for a world called Jaxinville," the powerful god explained, his eyes studying Jacob intently.
Jacob stood up, his small frame radiating confidence. "I will be your god. I'm ready to lead Jaxinville," he declared, hoping to bring peace to his room and excitement to his life.
The gods exchanged glances, hesitant but intrigued by Jacob's bold offer. Slowly, they nodded in agreement, recognizing the purity of his belief and the potential in his youthful spirit.
As the light receded, Jacob felt an unfamiliar power coursing through his veins. His room remained unchanged, but he perceived the world with newfound clarity and purpose.
"Welcome, young God of Jaxinville," the powerful god proclaimed, a smile gracing his features.
Jacob looked at Emily, who grinned back at him, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Together, they felt the weight of their secret—a new world awaiting their influence.
"Let's tell Mom later," Jacob whispered, as they both lay back on the bed, dreaming of adventures in Jaxinville.
