The big bad wolf pads softly through the underbrush, his fur bristling with anticipation. He creeps up to the door, nose twitching at the scent of roasting vegetables and something unfamiliar. The cottage’s windows glow with a golden light, promising comfort and perhaps an easy meal. The wolf’s paw presses gently on the door, which creaks open to reveal an unexpected sight.
The wolf halts mid-step, eyes wide with confusion. Instead of the old human he expected, there are only these deer, working with unnatural precision. The deer exchange a glance, their velvet eyes narrowing as they size up the intruder. One deer wipes its brow and steps forward, knife still in hoof.
Lead Deer, their eyes cold and determined, nods to their companion. "Well, look who’s come for dinner. What do you think, shall we let him join us?"
The second deer grins, revealing surprisingly sharp teeth. "Oh, I believe he’ll make a fine centerpiece tonight,"
Before the wolf can react, the deer leap into action, pinning him to the floor with practiced ease.
The wolf struggles, but is swiftly subdued. The deer shave his fur with careful strokes, leaving him exposed and shivering. They season him generously with salt, pepper, and fragrant herbs, their faces betraying no emotion. With efficiency, they lift the wolf into the roasting pan, nestling him among the chopped vegetables.
Steam clouds the window as the wolf’s fate is sealed. The deer wipe down the counters, humming softly as they set the table for two. Outside, the rain has stopped, leaving the forest eerily silent except for the crackle of fire from the oven.
Granny[/@ch_3], her eyes sharp behind wire-rimmed spectacles, and Red Riding Hood, her crimson cloak trailing behind her. The air is filled with victory and relief.]
"Granny, it worked! The wolf is finally gone,"
"Yes, my dear. Thanks to our friends, we can rest easy tonight,"
Granny and Red share a smile, settling in for a peaceful evening as the scent of roasted wolf fills the air, marking the end of their long struggle.
