Mindy splashes frantically in the pool, her arms flailing and her purple bikini vivid against the crystal water. Her feet kick wildly beneath the surface, sending up sprays of water that catch the sunlight. Her eyes are wide with fear as she calls for help, her voice trembling above the cheerful noise around her.
"Help! I can't swim! Someone, please—help me!"
Mindy[/@ch_1] as she fights to stay afloat. Her feet kick upward, toes pointed desperately toward the sky, bubbles streaming from her mouth as she gasps for air.]
Her kicks become more frantic, legs slicing through the water in a desperate bid to reach the surface. The shimmering blue distorts the view, but below, her feet are clearly visible, almost comically upright. Around her, the rest of the pool seems oblivious, the world narrowing to the struggle at hand.
"Please! My feet— I can’t keep them down!"
Mindy[/@ch_1]'s head slips beneath the surface. The world goes quiet and blue as she sinks, her feet now the only part of her visible, pointed straight up toward the sky.]
The light refracts through the water, painting her toes in wavy stripes of gold and turquoise. Silence envelops her, save for the faint rushing of water past her ears. For a heartbeat, everything is still, her feet waving faintly above her as she drifts closer to the bottom.
Mindy[/@ch_1] pushes off from the pool floor. She breaks the surface with a gasp, hair plastered to her face, and scrambles toward the edge.]
Water streams from her as she throws herself up onto the poolside, gasping and coughing. The sun warms her skin instantly, the rough concrete a welcome sensation beneath her trembling hands. She sits down heavily, her feet still wet, her chest heaving as she catches her breath.
Mindy[/@ch_1] sits at the edge, legs stretched out, feet pointed directly at the viewer. She wiggles her toes, droplets glistening in the sunlight, while a sheepish smile plays on her lips.]
"I swear, it's always my feet that get me into trouble," she says, holding her feet up for inspection. Her toes flex and curl, the pink polish catching the light as she laughs softly, embarrassment fading into humor.
"These toes just want to float up! Next time, I’ll teach them to help me swim instead of drowning me." She leans back, feet still in the foreground, wiggling them playfully.
Mindy[/@ch_1] grins, stretching her legs and pointing her toes toward the viewer as if to share her ordeal.]
"You ever have feet that just won’t behave?" she jokes, waving her toes in the air. The sun sparkles off the water, and her laughter mingles with the bright afternoon, turning a frightening moment into a story worth retelling.
