Wolf prowled cautiously, his fur bristling as he sniffed the damp earth. Suddenly, a hidden snare trap snapped shut around his hind leg, yanking him off his feet and spinning him upside down. Panic flashed in his golden eyes as he twisted and struggled, but the ropes held firm. In the distance, heavy footsteps approached, accompanied by the clatter of cooking utensils.
Pig Chef lumbered into the clearing, apron stained and knife gleaming. "Ah, tonight’s menu will be exquisite," he said, his voice thick with anticipation. He hauled the snared Wolf onto the chopping block, sharpening his blade with slow, deliberate strokes. Wolf whimpered, eyes darting around the kitchen, but there was no escape.
Pig Chef began to shave the coarse fur from Wolf's trembling body, revealing pale skin beneath. "Please... let me go," whimpered Wolf, his voice barely above a whisper. "Good food must be prepared with care," replied Pig Chef, not pausing for a moment. Fur piled up on the floor, and the scent of fear mingled with the earthy aroma of root vegetables.
Pig Chef seized Wolf, ignoring his desperate struggles. With practiced precision, he lowered the trembling wolf into the bubbling pot, the heat causing Wolf to whimper and squirm. "A dash of sage, a pinch of salt... and a hearty wolf for flavor," he muttered, sprinkling seasonings into the broth. The kitchen filled with the rich aroma of stew and the faint, sorrowful cries of the doomed wolf.
Pig Chef stirred the pot, humming an old nursery rhyme as Wolf grew weaker and quieter. "Almost ready," he said, licking his lips as he tasted the broth. The stew thickened, filling the kitchen with savory scents and a sense of finality. Wolf's presence faded, his whimpers replaced by the bubbling of the pot.
Pig Chef ladled the finished stew into a heavy ceramic bowl, savoring the aroma. He sat at the table, tucking a napkin under his chin, and dug in with relish. "Delicious," he declared, smiling as he devoured the hearty wolf stew. The only sounds were the clink of his spoon and the satisfied sighs of a chef who had feasted well.
