Emma Woods stood at the entrance, her heart pounding with a mix of fear and curiosity. "I can't believe we're actually doing this," she whispered to herself, clutching her flashlight tightly.
Mark Evans, Emma's best friend, joined her side, his breath visible in the cold. "This place is like something out of a nightmare," he remarked, his voice echoing through the cavernous space.
Emma shivered, rubbing her arms for warmth. "Do you feel that? It's like the house is alive," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Mark grabbed Emma's arm, pulling her closer. "We need to get out of here, now!" he urged, his panic rising with each passing second.
Emma reached the front door, fumbling with the lock in her haste. "Come on, come on!" she yelled, finally wrenching the door open as the ghostly presence closed in.
Mark looked back at the manor, a mix of relief and disbelief on his face. "Let's never come back here," he said, his voice trembling slightly.
Emma nodded in agreement, her eyes fixed on the eerie silhouette of Willow Manor. "Agreed. Some mysteries are best left unsolved," she replied, taking one last look before they walked away, leaving the haunted house behind.
