Eddie stood at the entrance of the Alpha Chi Theta house, a mix of excitement and apprehension swirling within him. The brothers had given him precise instructions, and he was determined to follow them, despite the nerves that tugged at his resolve.
As Eddie made his way down the hall, he couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. The murmured voices seemed to grow louder, guiding him to the room at the far end. There, in the center of the dim space, lay the enormous Sunday newspaper, its glossy colors vibrant against the dusty backdrop.
Eddie leaned closer, drawn to the vivid image of the baseball player with the pink bubblegum bubble. The scent of ink was overpowering, wrapping around his mind and twisting his stomach with an unfamiliar anticipation.
Panic surged through Eddie as he realized he was locked in. The bubble on the newspaper seemed to breathe, growing larger with each passing second, the brothers' chants of "Bigger! Bigger! Bigger!" echoing in his ears.
The newspaper's edges curled upward, enveloping him in its massive embrace. The ink seeped into his clothes and skin, a living entity determined to consume him. With a deafening pop, the bubble exploded, sending fragments of ink-soaked paper showering down.
Eddie stumbled out, drenched in ink, as the brothers greeted him with wide grins. The initiation had reached its conclusion, their synchronized bubble-blowing an odd yet celebratory ritual. As the giant pink bubble burst, Eddie realized he was finally part of something bigger—a sense of belonging he had long sought.
