I drove with determination, my fingers gripping the steering wheel. Beside me, Sarah stifled another yawn, her eyes heavy with exhaustion. The GPS screen flickered, casting an eerie glow inside the car. "I think we should stop and get some rest," Sarah suggested, but I shook my head, eyes fixed on the road ahead.
The unsettling feeling in my gut grew stronger as the GPS signal vanished entirely. Sarah glanced nervously at the trees that loomed over us like silent sentinels. "I don't like this," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the hum of the engine. I pressed on, the road beneath us stretching into infinity.
As we approached, I felt a shiver crawl down my spine. Sarah turned to look back as we passed the woman, but she was gone. "Who was that?" Sarah asked, her voice tinged with fear. The air inside the car felt colder, the shadows deeper.
I blinked, disbelieving, as Sarah vanished without a trace. "Sarah!" I shouted, slamming on the brakes. The tires screeched, but there was no response. I was alone, the night pressing in on all sides.
Desperation clawed at me as I retraced the path, hoping for any sign of Sarah. The hours melted away, leaving only a fraying sense of reality. Then, standing in the middle of the road, I saw her again—the woman in white, eyes locked onto mine.
I realized we were back at the start, trapped in a loop. The woman reached out, her touch cold as ice. Everything went dark. When I awoke, the car was empty, the silence deafening. I stumbled out, searching for Sarah, only to find an old, weathered sign: "Welcome to Nowhere." I was alone, lost in a place that defied reality.
