Mia, a 17-year-old girl with tired eyes, sat slumped on the couch, her face illuminated by the bluish light of her phone. Her fingers hovered over the screen, hesitating before typing a response. "Ugh, why am I still awake?" she thought, glancing at the clock.
She waited anxiously for Lucy to pick up, her voice barely a whisper when she finally spoke, "Lucy? You okay?" The silence on the other end was unnerving, only broken by faint breathing.
"I’m right behind you." Mia's breath hitched, her eyes widening in terror. The room felt colder, the shadows more alive.
"No... no, no…" she whispered, her voice trembling. A pair of glowing eyes blinked at her from the darkness, sending a chill down her spine.
Mia screamed, "LUCY! HELP!" But the line had gone dead, leaving her alone with the looming figure in the shadows. The voice whispered once more, "I told you... I’m right behind you." The room fell into an unsettling silence, leaving Mia trapped in her own nightmare.
