Ethan and Lily beamed as they stood hand-in-hand, gazing at their new home. "It's perfect, isn't it?" Ethan remarked, squeezing Lily's hand. "Absolutely. I can't believe we found this place," Lily replied, her eyes sparkling with excitement about their new beginning.
As Ethan and Lily settled into bed, a sense of tranquility washed over them. Yet, as the night deepened, faint whispers began to seep through the walls. "Did you hear that?" Lily whispered, her voice barely audible. "It's probably just the wind," Ethan reassured, but unease lingered in the air.
Lily sat up abruptly as the whispers distinctly called their names. "Ethan, they're saying our names!" Lily exclaimed, her heart racing. Ethan listened intently, his expression shifting from disbelief to concern. "We need to find out what's going on," Ethan decided, determination setting in.
The couple moved cautiously, their footsteps echoing through the silent halls. "Look here," Lily pointed, her flashlight illuminating a section of the wall that seemed oddly hollow. Ethan pressed his ear against it, hearing the whispers more clearly than ever.
Ethan gasped as they uncovered the grim sight of preserved remains, their faces contorted in silent screams. Lily staggered back, tears filling her eyes. "Oh my God... they were trapped," Lily whispered, horror-stricken. "We need to call the authorities," Ethan stated, his voice shaking.
The authorities arrived swiftly, and the couple watched as the investigation unfolded. "It's over now," Lily sighed, leaning against Ethan for support. "Yes, and we can finally give them peace," Ethan replied, wrapping an arm around her. Together, they stood strong, ready to make their house a true home.
