Goliath stood atop a building, his silhouette immense against the darkening sky. He scanned the horizon, his keen eyes searching for any sign of the impending alien threat. Beside him, Quick Velocity adjusted her mask, her foot tapping impatiently.
"Do you think they’ll come tonight?" she asked, her voice a hushed whisper carried by the wind.
"They will. We have to be ready," Goliath replied, his voice a deep rumble.
Nebula shimmered into view, her form shifting like a mirage. Her presence was both calming and enigmatic. Crimson Vortex arrived in a whirlwind of energy, his vibrant red suit blazing against the night.
"The stars are aligning," Nebula mused, her eyes reflecting the celestial dance above.
"Then it’s showtime," Crimson Vortex declared, his enthusiasm infectious.
Goliath unrolled a blueprint of the city, pointing to key locations the aliens might target. Quick Velocity leaned in, her mind racing through possibilities.
"We split into pairs. Cover more ground that way," Goliath suggested.
"I’ll take the east side with Nebula. Her powers will be crucial," Quick Velocity replied, nodding at Nebula.
"Let’s outsmart them," Nebula agreed, her voice a gentle melody.
Crimson Vortex was a blur of motion, darting between alleys, his energy blasts lighting up the darkness. Goliath charged forward, his strength unstoppable as he faced the alien foot soldiers.
"Keep them distracted! They’re trying to flank us!" Crimson Vortex shouted over the chaos.
"I’m on it!" Goliath replied, hurling debris to block the advancing aliens.
Quick Velocity surveyed the scene, relief washing over her.
"We did it," Nebula said softly, her eyes reflecting the gentle glow of the morning.
"Together, we’re unstoppable," Goliath affirmed, his pride unmistakable.
Crimson Vortex leaned against a wall, his energy still crackling with excitement.
"Next time, they’ll think twice before coming here," he joked, his laughter infectious.
Quick Velocity smiled, her heart full of gratitude for her team. "We’re the Power Squad, and this is just the beginning," she declared, her voice full of determination.
