Special Agent Sam Snowpaw, a clever white mouse in a crisp blue jacket, pores over a stack of files in the command center.
Agent Kit Pine, a quick-thinking fox with keen eyes, flips through her notebook, her bushy tail swishing with anticipation.
"Kit, have you seen this? Koala Karen’s eucalyptus stash has vanished overnight. That’s her entire food supply for the week!"
"Looks like we’ve got ourselves a real leafy mystery. Let’s check out the scene of the crime,"
Koala Karen, gentle and gray with a pink ribbon, anxiously gnaws her claws.
"Karen, can you tell us what happened last night? Did you see or hear anything unusual?"
"I heard a rustling near midnight, but it was too dark to see. When I woke up, all my leaves were gone. Now I’m so hungry,"
Sam examines the ground, noticing a trail of muddy pawprints leading away from the enclosure.
"These pawprints look smaller than Karen’s. Could it be a raccoon or a possum?"
"Perhaps, but look at these bite marks—very neat, almost surgical. Whoever took the leaves knew exactly what they wanted,"
A sudden rustling in the bushes makes them pause, and Kit crouches low, ready to investigate.
Percy the Possum[/@ch_4], a nervous little creature with twitchy whiskers and bright eyes.]
"Percy, what are you doing with Koala Karen’s eucalyptus?"
"I—I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to steal it. I just wanted to help my family. My mom’s been sick, and eucalyptus helps her breathe,"
Kit softens, glancing at Sam, realizing this case is more complicated than it first appeared.
"Karen, would you be willing to share your eucalyptus with Percy’s family? The zoo can bring in more, so no one goes hungry,"
"Of course! I didn’t know anyone needed it so badly. We can all share,"
"Thank you. I promise I’ll never sneak around again,"
"Another case solved, Kit. Sometimes, the answer isn’t just about who took what, but why,"
"That’s why we’re here, Sam—to help everyone, big or small,"
Their laughter echoes softly as the stars begin to shine overhead, signaling the end of another curious creature case.
