Emma slides into her seat, her cheerful energy a bright spot in the bustling room. She glances around, searching for her friend Sofia, who is weaving through the crowd with a wide grin. The teacher’s voice echoes as lessons begin, but Emma can't shake the feeling that today holds something unusual.
Sofia, Emma’s friend, joins her at the desk, her eyes widening as she spots the blood. "Emma, look! There’s something weird under your table… Is that blood?" Emma leans down for a closer look, her heart thudding with curiosity and a hint of fear.
"We should find out what happened. Maybe someone got hurt," Emma whispers, determination growing in her voice. "Let’s check if anyone’s missing or if someone needs help," Sofia suggests, her concern matching Emma’s resolve.
Between the desks, Emma spots a torn notebook page with shaky handwriting, stained at the edge. "This could be important… It says ‘Sorry, I didn’t mean to—’" she reads aloud, her voice hushed. Sofia gently picks up the tissue, noticing a small scrape on the desk leg, as if someone had bumped into it.
The nurse explains that earlier, a student named Lucas had accidentally cut his hand while sharpening pencils, leaving a trail of blood before he was helped. "So it wasn’t anything scary after all," Sofia says, smiling in relief. Emma nods, her fear replaced by empathy for Lucas.
"I’m glad we checked. It’s better to know than to worry," Emma reflects, her friendly nature shining through. Sofia laughs, promising to keep investigating mysteries together. As the lesson continues, both girls feel a new confidence, ready for whatever surprises school might bring next.
