Bobby scowls at Josh, his fists clenched and voice tense. The air is thick with frustration as they argue near a bonfire, sparks darting upward with each gust.
"You think you can win her over just because you bought her flowers, Josh? You don't even understand her!"
"At least I don't try to control everything she does, Bobby! Jennifer deserves someone who actually listens."
Jennifer strolls along the shoreline, her hair glinting in the sunlight, deep in thought. She stops, gazing out to sea, a wistful look on her face.
"Maybe I need to get away from all of this... Just for a day."
She leaves her things behind and walks further down the beach, disappearing behind a rocky outcrop.
Josh kneels beside Jennifer’s towel, his face pale with anxiety, while Bobby scans the waterline, calling her name.
"She wouldn’t just leave her stuff. Something’s wrong, Josh!"
"We need to find her. Let’s check past the rocks—maybe she went for a swim or got hurt."
Bobby spots Jennifer’s bracelet tangled in seaweed, hope flickering in his eyes. Josh points to footprints leading toward a cave half-hidden by shadows.
"Look! She was here—maybe she went into that cave. We have to hurry!"
Jennifer looks up, her eyes brimming with tears and gratitude, surprised but glad to see both of them together.
"I just needed some time alone... I didn’t mean to scare you. Thank you for coming after me—both of you."
"We were worried sick, Jennifer. Nothing matters more to us than knowing you’re safe."
"Yeah, and maybe we should stop fighting, at least for today."
Jennifer links her arms with both boys, her laughter echoing over the waves. The beach feels alive again, peaceful and safe, promising new beginnings.
"Maybe the three of us can start fresh—no more fighting, just friendship and trust."
They agree, their rivalry giving way to a bond forged by worry, hope, and the search for what truly matters.
