Makoto Kino strolled beside Alex, appreciating the calm before the storm. The air was filled with the scent of blooming flowers, a hint of rain in the distance. "Looks like we might get caught in the rain," she remarked, glancing at the sky.
"Oh no, we're getting soaked!" Alex exclaimed with a laugh, trying to shield his face from the rain. Without missing a beat, Makoto knelt down, offering Alex a piggyback ride. "Hop on, I'll get us to your place," she said, opening her trusty umbrella with one hand.
Makoto carried Alex securely, the umbrella shielding them from the worst of the downpour. "You're amazing, Makoto," he said, grateful for her strength and kindness. Soon, they reached Alex's home, droplets glistening on the umbrella's surface.
Makoto stood at the doorstep, balancing Alex with ease. "Do you have your key?" she asked, shifting slightly to retrieve it from Alex's pocket. With a deft motion, she unlocked the door, guiding them inside, away from the storm.
Makoto gently set Alex down on the couch, offering a reassuring smile. "I'll whip up something warm for us," she promised, heading to the kitchen. The sound of clinking pots and the sizzle of cooking soon followed, filling the space with delicious anticipation.
Makoto and Alex sat together, enjoying the warmth of the meal and each other's company. "Thank you for everything, Makoto," he said, his gratitude evident. "Anytime, Alex. It's always an adventure with you," she replied, laughter in her voice as the rain continued to fall, a calming lullaby to their shared moment.
