Noah Jutila entered the room, his heart pounding as he saw Margo Gru seated on the couch, her presence commanding and reassuring.
"Hey, Noah," she greeted, setting her book aside with a welcoming smile.
"H-Hi," he stammered, feeling the heat rise to his cheeks as he quickly covered his face.
Margo tilted her head slightly, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
"Are you okay?" she asked, patting the seat next to her.
Noah sat stiffly, his eyes glued to the book in front of him, trying to ignore the proximity of Margo.
Each accidental brush of her arm against his sent a jolt through him, his face burning with embarrassment.
Their hands collided over a page, and Noah pulled away as if shocked by electricity.
Margo raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile playing on her lips.
"Noah… are you blushing?" she asked.
The minions giggled and pointed at Noah, causing Edith and Agnes to peek out, whispering with glee.
"I knew it! Noah has a crush on Margo!" Edith exclaimed, her voice echoing in the room.
Noah groaned, burying his face deeper into his hands, wishing to disappear.
Margo turned to her sisters, unimpressed.
"Really? You set us up?" she questioned, her voice a mix of annoyance and amusement.
Gru stormed into the room, his freeze ray at the ready, eyes scanning for threats.
"What is going on here?" he demanded, his gaze finally landing on Noah.
"Dad, really? It’s fine. We were just studying," Margo reassured him, rolling her eyes.
Gru’s stern expression softened slightly, though he remained vigilant.
"Because my sisters are being annoying and teasing him," Margo explained.
Gru sighed, lowering his freeze ray, his protective nature subsiding.
"Fine. But if I hear one wrong move, I have access to a thousand high-powered lasers," he warned before leaving.
Margo turned back to Noah with a playful smirk.
"You’re way too easy to mess with," she teased, nudging his shoulder lightly.
"I know…" Noah mumbled, a shy smile peeking through his embarrassment.
Margo chuckled, her laughter light and sincere.
"Relax, I think it’s cute," she admitted, her eyes meeting his with a newfound warmth.
Noah froze, his heart skipping a beat, the heat in his cheeks now a different kind of warmth.
"Thanks," he whispered, finally daring to meet her gaze.
The study session had turned into something unexpected, but perhaps not unwelcome, as they both realized.
