Liam adjusted his sunglasses and glanced over at Mia, who was walking beside him with an effortless grace. Her Y2K outfit caught the light, the low-rise jeans and a glittering belly chain creating an ensemble that seemed to belong to a different era. "You really bring the past into the present," he remarked with a smile.
"I like to think of it as a retro revival," Mia replied, twirling slightly to make the charm on her belly chain jingle.
Liam's eyes kept drifting back to Mia's midriff, not out of judgment, but curiosity. "What made you pick this style?" he asked, genuinely intrigued.
"It's more than just fashion," Mia explained, her eyes lighting up. "It's about embracing a time when everything felt new and exciting. Plus, it reminds me of stories my mom used to tell about her youth."
Mia looked out at the sea, her expression thoughtful. "It's funny how clothes can carry memories," she mused, tracing a finger along the edge of her coffee cup. "For me, it’s like wearing a piece of my family's history."
Liam nodded, understanding the depth behind her words. "It's like a story you carry with you, woven into the threads," he said softly.
Liam and Mia walked side by side, their hands lightly touching. "You know," he started, pausing to look at her, "you make me want to explore my own stories, my own past."
Mia smiled, a warmth spreading through her chest. "I'd love that," she replied, squeezing his hand gently.
Mia stopped and turned to Liam, her eyes sparkling in the dim light. "Thanks for being so curious and open," she said, wrapping her arms around him.
Liam hugged her back, feeling a deep sense of connection. "Thanks for sharing your story," he replied, knowing this was just the beginning of many more shared memories.
