Mirei Tajima hurriedly entered the office, her cheeks rosy from the morning chill. As an average-looking, chubby woman of 26, she felt somewhat invisible amidst her glamorous coworkers. Yet, her heart was warm with kindness and humor, making her beloved by those who took the time to know her.
Yōta Arizumi, the new hire, was introduced to the team. He had an air of mischief about him, a sly smile playing on his lips. His eyes, however, were kind and observant, taking in the room with a quiet confidence. "Welcome, Yōta. Let's make some great toys together," Mirei said warmly, extending her hand.
"I hear you’re the one with all the great ideas," Yōta remarked, leaning over Mirei's desk with a grin. She blushed, surprised by his attention. "I just try to have fun with it," she replied, her eyes sparkling. Their shared laughter echoed softly, unnoticed by others.
Mirei and Yōta sat side by side, discussing a new toy concept. "Your ideas are really something, Mirei," Yōta said earnestly. "I think we're a great team," Mirei replied, feeling a warmth spread through her chest.
Yōta lingered by Mirei's desk as she packed up her things. "Mirei, there's something I've been meaning to tell you," he began, his voice sincere. Her heart skipped a beat as she looked up at him. "I've really enjoyed working with you, and I’d like to get to know you better outside of work," he confessed, his eyes meeting hers.
Mirei and Yōta sat across from each other, their conversation flowing as naturally as the coffee they sipped. "I never imagined I'd find someone like you here," Mirei admitted, a smile on her lips. "Sometimes the best things come unexpectedly," Yōta replied, reaching for her hand across the table, sealing their connection with a promise of more to come.
