Rok-Tahk stood at the edge of the docking bay, her eyes scanning the crowd eagerly. The towering Bricarian was a striking figure, her skin a deep shade of azure with shimmering patterns that glinted under the artificial lights. As a gust of wind swept through the port, Dal R'El emerged from the throng, his face lighting up as he spotted his friend.
"Dal!" she exclaimed, rushing forward and enveloping him in a bear hug that lifted him off the ground. Dal R'El chuckled, used to the exuberant greetings of his Bricarian companion.
Rok-Tahk set Dal R'El back on his feet, her expression shifting to one of concern. "Are you sure you don't mind when I do that?" she asked, her voice gentle yet anxious.
"You've picked me up so many times, I'm more worried you'd get bored of doing it," he replied with a grin, adjusting his jacket.
Rok-Tahk chuckled, her earlier worry fading. "There was this one human friend who really didn't like being picked up," she recalled, amusement coloring her tone. "But since I'm taller, it was hard to avoid at times."
Dal R'El nodded, understanding the challenges of interspecies friendships. "Humans can be particular about personal space, but they come around," he said, gazing at the stars.
Rok-Tahk leaned against the railing, her gaze thoughtful. "It's just that sometimes I worry about not understanding all these little customs. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable," she admitted.
Dal R'El placed a reassuring hand on her arm. "The fact that you care so much is what makes you a great friend. People will see that," he assured her.
Rok-Tahk smiled, her worries eased. "Thanks, Dal. It's good to have you back," she said, her voice warm with gratitude.
Dal R'El smiled back, feeling a deep sense of belonging. "It's good to be back," he replied, as they turned to head back to the bustling heart of Bricar.
