Captain Marvel holds Spider-Man securely as they speed above the city. Wind rushes past, tugging at Spider-Man's mask and making his web-shooters rattle at his wrists.
"Uh, Carol, are you sure this is faster than swinging?"
"You said you needed to get across Manhattan in two minutes," comes the confident reply, her eyes sparkling with challenge.
Spider-Man tries to keep his cool, but his grip tightens. He peers down at the city, watching taxis shrink to toy cars.
"Remind me never to complain about traffic again," he quips, voice trembling with both fear and excitement.
"Relax, Spidey. I’ve got you. Besides, the view is unbeatable from up here,"
Spider-Man grins, finding his bravado. Captain Marvel glances over with a smirk.
"You ever think about how easy flying makes superheroing? I mean, webs are cool, but this is next level,"
"Every power has its perks. But not everyone can crack a joke at Mach 2," she laughs.
"Ready for the drop-off? Or do you want to circle the city one more time?"
Spider-Man shakes his head, but his eyes are bright with adrenaline.
"As tempting as that sounds, I think my stomach's still somewhere over Times Square,"
"See? Safe and sound. Next time, you drive,"
"Only if you promise not to laugh when I get lost," he shoots back, pulling off his mask to breathe in the night air.
"We make a good team, Spider-Man,"
"Yeah, we do. Thanks for the lift, Captain," he replies, a genuine smile spreading across his face as the city pulses with life below them.
