Eli, the older brother with a restless spirit and tousled hair, gently places a cool cloth on his grandmother’s brow. Beside him stands Sam, younger, thoughtful, with bright eyes full of hope.
"Grandma, we’ll find the legendary apple. You’ll be well again, I promise," Eli says, conviction in his voice.
"I’ve read about its magic, Eli. We just need to be brave," Sam replies, squeezing his brother’s hand.
Eli pushes aside a wall of ferns, leading Sam into the maze. The ground is slick and uneven, roots twist like serpents, and every step seems to lead them deeper.
"This place feels endless. What if we get lost?" Sam asks, voice trembling.
"If we stick together, nothing can stop us," Eli assures, scanning for clues among the foliage.
Sam gazes around, eyes wide as he nearly steps into a pool of bubbling chocolate. Eli catches his arm, wary of the enchantments.
"It looks delicious, Eli... but what if it’s a trap?"
"We can’t let our guard down. The apple is the only cure Grandma needs," Eli replies, determination hardening his face.
Sam hesitates, watching the river’s depths swirl with memories and fears. Eli steps onto the first stone, reaching back for his brother.
"We have to trust ourselves. Grandma needs us,"
"I know she does. I’m scared, but I’ll follow you," Sam says, taking his brother’s hand as they cross together, hearts pounding.
Eli approaches, awe in his eyes, and Sam follows. They exchange a look, knowing their quest is nearly complete.
"We did it, Eli. Grandma will be saved,"
"Together, we can face anything," Eli says as they carefully lift the apple, its warmth spreading through their hands.
Sam sits by the bedside, watching color return to their grandmother’s cheeks. Eli smiles, tears in his eyes.
"Rest now, Grandma. Everything will be alright,"
"We’ll always be here for you," Sam whispers, as their grandmother stirs, her eyes shining with gratitude and love.
