Lina scrambled frantically down the narrow corridor, her breaths quick and shallow as she clung to her floating backpack. A warning voice echoed overhead, announcing imminent systems failure.
"I need to get to the escape pod… Now!"
Lina yanked open the hatch, her hands trembling. She stared at the parachute—her only chance to survive the descent. Outside, the planet below glowed blue and green, swirling with clouds.
"Okay, Lina. You can do this. Just follow the training," she whispered to herself, strapping in and securing the parachute tightly across her chest.
Lina clings to the harness, her knuckles white. She shuts her eyes, feeling the sudden lurch as gravity slowly returns and the pod enters the planet’s atmosphere. Heat blazes across the hull, sparks dancing beneath the glass.
"Please hold together… just a little longer," she murmured, voice trembling.
Lina grips the release lever, heart pounding in her ears. With a determined breath, she yanks it, and the pod’s hatch bursts open, releasing the parachute with a powerful snap. The world slows, the roar of descent replaced by the gentle rush of wind.
"I’m not out of danger yet, but… I made it this far," she gasped, peering down at the approaching landscape.
Lina braces for impact, watching as trees rush past. With a jarring thud, the pod lands among tall grass, the parachute collapsing over the roof. All around, birds scatter, startled by the sudden arrival.
"Ground… sweet ground," she whispered, relief flooding her chest as she unbuckled herself.
Lina surveys her surroundings, determination settling in her gaze. She shoulders her backpack and begins walking towards the unknown, the promise of adventure shimmering in the air.
"I escaped the stars. Now, I’ll conquer this world,"
