Maya, a bright-eyed girl with curly hair pulled into puffs, flips a page in her Bible, her finger tracing the words.
Jalen, her younger brother, leans in closer, curiosity shining in his brown eyes.
"Jalen, do you think we could be like the disciples and tell our friends about Jesus?"
"I want to, but… what if they laugh at us?"
Maya clutches her backpack straps, her heart pounding with nervous excitement.
Jalen nudges her, whispering encouragement.
"Let’s pray for courage first. Jesus always helped His friends when they were scared,"
"Okay. Jesus, please help us be brave and show our friends Your love," he murmurs, squeezing her hand.

Maya takes a deep breath and steps forward.
"Hey, Tasha, Marcus, have you ever heard about Jesus and how much He loves us all?"
"My grandma goes to church, but I don’t know much," replies Tasha, curiosity in her eyes.
"Is it like Sunday School stories?" asks Marcus, pausing mid-bite.
"Jesus is like the best friend you could ever have," Jalen explains, his voice steady.
"He helps us when we’re sad, forgives us, and wants us to love others the same way," Maya adds.
"That sounds really nice. How do you know He’s real?" Tasha asks softly.
Maya grins as she stands, feeling bolder than before.
"You can talk to Jesus anytime, just like talking to a friend. If you want, we can pray together after school,"
"I want to try," says Marcus, a shy smile spreading across his face.
"Me too," Tasha agrees.
Jalen peeks up, his heart full of joy.
"See, Maya? We can follow Jesus and share His love. And now our friends can too,"
Maya smiles, her eyes shining with gratitude, knowing their adventure has only just begun.
