Donna steps out of a yellow cab, her coat wrapped tightly around her to shield from the rain. The casino looms before her, windows aglow, promising fortune or folly inside. She pauses beneath the awning, glancing at her phone, determination etched on her face.
Maria[/@ch_2], a sharp-eyed woman in a crisp suit, waits by the bar with a folder in hand.]
Maria catches Donna's eye and beckons her over. "You ready to own a Tesla?" she teases, sliding the folder across the polished wood. "Only if luck is on my side tonight," Donna replies, her voice steady though her hands tremble slightly.
Natasha, her eyes darting between Donna and the exit, leans in as Donna approaches. "I heard you might have a car soon. I need to get to New York City tonight—will you drive me if you win?" "If I win, I’ll have a car, but I’ll still need gas money," Donna jokes, a nervous laugh escaping her.
Donna slides up to a blackjack table, her eyes on the dealer. The air is thick with cigar smoke and the scent of possibility. "All in," she whispers, pushing her stack of chips forward, heart pounding as the first card is dealt.
Donna[/@ch_1] exhales, relief and disbelief washing over her.]
Maria appears, grinning, and hands over the Tesla keys. "A deal’s a deal. Enjoy the ride," she says warmly. Donna turns to Natasha, who beams with hope. "Let’s get you to New York," Donna declares, pockets full and future uncertain.
Donna[/@ch_1] slides into the driver’s seat. Natasha settles beside her, clutching a cup of gas station coffee.]
Rain patters gently on the windshield, blurring the city lights into smears of gold and red. As they pull onto the highway, hope and possibility shimmer ahead like the dawn. "Thanks for the ride—and for taking a chance," Donna just smiles, the thrill of the night still racing in her veins as they speed toward New York City.
