Lauren stepped out of her car, stretching after the long drive from Missouri. She took a deep breath, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness for the new chapter ahead.
Tyler embraced Lauren, a wide smile on his face. "It's great to have you here, sis. How was the drive?"
"Long but worth it," she replied, glancing around. "You've really settled in nicely."
Lauren flipped through the pages, her eyes widening at the detailed entries about Tyler's missions and personal thoughts. The words painted vivid images of distant galaxies and the challenges he faced as a Space Force officer.
"Tyler, I found this," she said, holding up the journal. "I didn't mean to pry, but it's incredible."
"It's okay, Lauren," he replied, a hint of melancholy in his voice. "Those are memories I haven't shared with many people."
"Alyssa's been a rock for me through it all," Tyler admitted. "And these two," he gestured to Stewie and Tallie napping nearby, "are my constant companions."
"I'm glad I moved here," Lauren said, leaning against her brother. "There's so much more to discover, together."
"Welcome to the adventure," Tyler replied with a smile, as the warmth of family enveloped them both.
