Oliver sat cross-legged on his bed, tracing shapes in the air with his finger as he watched raindrops race each other down the glass. The gentle patter of rain outside made everything feel calm, but Oliver's mind was busy with thoughts of adventures. A faded picture book lay open on his lap, its pages brimming with tales of magical places and daring journeys.
Oliver gasped as a rainbow materialized outside his window, its colors brighter and more vivid than any he’d ever seen. "If only I could climb up there and see where it leads," he whispered, his eyes wide with wonder. Suddenly, a soft, tinkling sound filled the room, and a tiny, glowing ladder unfurled from the window ledge, reaching all the way to the rainbow.
Oliver hesitated only a moment before grabbing the lowest rung, feeling a tingle of excitement. As he climbed higher, the world below grew small and distant, and the colors around him grew warmer and more inviting. Each step made him feel lighter, until his feet landed softly on the rainbow itself.
Oliver marveled at the view—rolling hills striped with every hue, and flowers that changed color when touched. A friendly, talking squirrel with a golden tail bounded over to greet him. Sunny the Squirrel, a cheerful guide with a knack for riddles, offered a paw and a wide grin.
"To continue on the rainbow, you must answer my riddle," Sunny the Squirrel declared, eyes twinkling. Oliver took a deep breath, determined to prove himself. The riddle echoed in the air: "What has colors but no brush, stretches across the sky, and disappears when you try to touch?"
"A rainbow!" Oliver exclaimed, his voice ringing with excitement. The gate shimmered, then melted away, and Oliver raced forward with Sunny the Squirrel at his side. Inside the chest, Oliver found a dazzling prism and a note: "The greatest adventures begin with a wish." As the rainbow began to fade, Oliver waved goodbye to Sunny the Squirrel and slid down the rainbow, heart full of magic and dreams.
