Finn clutched his cloak tightly around him, his heart pounding with a mix of fear and excitement. The Black Serpent, a legendary vessel feared across the seas, loomed before him, its sails flapping like the wings of a restless dragon.
Finn crept silently, his feet finding purchase on the slippery wood. "This is it," he whispered to himself, his breath visible in the chill air. He ducked behind a row of barrels, listening intently to the voices of the crew as they bellowed orders and curses.
Captain Redbeard, a hulking figure with a mane of fiery hair, leaned over a crudely drawn map. "We'll take the map from those scoundrels at dawn," he growled, his voice as menacing as the storm itself. Finn's eyes widened as he realized the gravity of what he had stumbled upon.
Finn felt the thrill of discovery coursing through him. With the crew distracted, he took the opportunity to explore further. He found a small, hidden compartment in the captain’s quarters, its contents glinting in the moonlight.
First Mate Scully, a wiry man with a keen eye, noticed the slight disturbance among the cargo. "What’s this then?" he barked, pointing towards Finn's hiding spot. The boy's heart leapt into his throat as he was discovered, standing defiantly before the pirates.
Finn weaved through the legs of the burly pirates, his small size an advantage in the confined space. With a final burst of speed, he leapt over the side of the Black Serpent, plunging into the cool embrace of the sea. As he swam towards the shore, a triumphant smile spread across his face. He had tasted adventure, and he knew this was just the beginning.
