The boy wandered alone, clutching his worn backpack, his eyes wide with uncertainty. Each crunch of his boots echoed in the silence, his breath visible in the cool night air. Suddenly, a pair of glowing eyes appeared in the underbrush, fixated on him from the shadows.
The wolf stepped forward, its gaze steady but not menacing. The boy froze, fear gripping him, but curiosity won over as he noticed the creature’s gentle posture. "Are you lost too?"
"We can help each other," the wolf seemed to say with its patient eyes and quiet presence. The boy nodded, feeling comforted by the animal’s silent companionship. Together, they listened to the night, the threat of loneliness fading.
The boy hesitated, unsure how to proceed. The wolf padded ahead, nudging aside branches with its nose to clear a way through. "Thank you," the boy whispered, grateful for the wolf’s guidance.
The boy recognized the path home, his heart swelling with relief. The wolf lingered at his side, watching the sunrise. "Will you come with me?" he asked, hope blooming in his voice.
"This is where our journey ends," the wolf seemed to convey, nuzzling the boy’s hand gently. The boy smiled, tears glistening in his eyes, and waved goodbye as the wolf melted back into the woods, leaving paw prints in the soft soil.
