Ravi, a clever and agile dog, trotted along the edge of the watering hole, his keen eyes scanning the horizon. He paused, ears pricking at the sound of rustling in the grass. Curiosity piqued, he moved closer to investigate.
Doe, her coat a soft tawny hue, stood frozen in fear, unable to escape the crocodile's menacing gaze. In that moment, Ravi knew he had to act quickly. "I've got to distract it," he thought, determination sparking in his eyes.
Ravi took a deep breath, then let out a series of loud, sharp barks. "Over here, you scaly brute!" he barked, his voice echoing across the plains. The crocodile's head snapped in his direction, momentarily distracted by the unexpected noise.
Doe seized the opportunity, leaping gracefully away from the danger. Ravi glanced back, relieved to see her bounding to safety. "Keep going!" he barked, his heart pounding as he led the crocodile further away.
Ravi slowed to a trot, his breath coming in steady pants. He turned back to see Doe standing a safe distance away, her eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you," she said softly, her voice carrying on the gentle breeze.
"We make a good team," Ravi remarked with a wag of his tail, glancing at Doe. Together, they watched as the stars began to twinkle above, knowing that in this vast, untamed world, they had found an ally in each other.
