Kancil, the clever mousedeer, stood at the river's edge, contemplating the shimmering expanse that separated him from the feast of fruits awaiting on the opposite bank. His large eyes glinted with curiosity and mischief.
"Hello, Crocodile! How are you today?"
Lazing on a sun-drenched rock was Buaya, the crocodile, who lifted his head languidly, responding with a toothy grin.
"Hello, Kancil! I’m doing well. What brings you here?"
Kancil tilted his head thoughtfully, his voice playful.
"I wish to cross the river to enjoy the delicious fruits on the other side. Would you kindly allow me to ride on your back?"
Buaya narrowed his eyes, pondering the request, as the promise of a fruity treat piqued his interest.
"Why should I help you, Kancil?"
Kancil grinned, his words smooth as silk.
"I can guide you to the most delectable fruits across the river. Think of it as a small adventure for a great reward!"
With a leap, Kancil landed on Buaya's broad back, and they began their journey across the river. The water rippled around them, and the jungle seemed to sway rhythmically in time with their crossing.
"Look at those fish, Buaya! Aren't they amusing?"
Buaya chuckled, his deep voice resonating through the water.
"Yes, but be careful not to fall, Kancil!"
As they arrived, Kancil bounded off Buaya's back, eager to explore. The air was thick with the sweet aroma of ripe mangoes, rambutans, and durians.
"Thank you, Buaya! Now, I'll gather some fruits for us!"
After savoring the fruits, Kancil remembered his promise and returned to the riverbank, calling out to Buaya.
"Buaya! I've brought you some fruits!"
Buaya approached, delighted to partake in the feast.
"Thank you, Kancil! You are indeed a true friend."
Kancil beamed, his heart full of warmth.
"I'm glad we can be friends, Buaya!"
Buaya nodded, his eyes twinkling with joy.
"As am I, Kancil. Let us continue to explore and aid each other."
From that day forward, Kancil and Buaya roamed the jungle and river together, sharing happiness and adventures, their friendship unyielding as the mighty river that brought them together.
